Does WoW Forever Have a Group Finder?
No automatic group finder, no dungeon queue, no teleport to the entrance. What WoW Forever has instead, and where groups will actually come from.
No. WoW Forever does not have the automatic Group Finder from modern World of Warcraft. There is no dungeon queue that builds a party for you, no Raid Finder, and nothing that teleports you to the instance. Meeting Stones do not summon either. You find your group, and then you walk there.
What it does have is the Looking for Group tool from WoW Classic. You list what you want to run and what role you play; other players browse the list and whisper you. It organises people; it does not match them. Blizzard showed this version at the BlizzCon demo, and it was widely reported on 14 September 2026.
There is forum talk of a Raid Finder arriving later, but nothing confirmed, and raids do not open until December anyway. Check Blizzard's Forever announcements before relying on anything beyond the listing tool.
What that means for your evenings
Every dungeon run is a group someone assembled by hand. In practice that happens in three places:
- Guild chat. The fastest route, every time. "Anyone for Scarlet Monastery?" in a guild that is levelling alongside you gets a group in minutes. In a city's chat channel it can take an hour, and you get whoever is there.
- The Looking for Group tool and city chat. This works, but it is slow at odd hours and slower on a quiet ruleset. Expect to wait, and expect to travel once the group forms.
- Your friends list. The healer you ran Deadmines with on Tuesday is your tank on Thursday. Add people who were good to play with.
The first of those is the one you can set up before launch. Without a group finder, your guild is your group finder.
What to look for in a guild, given all this
A guild that will actually fill your dungeon runs looks like this:
- It plays when you play. A guild that raids on your evenings but levels on nights you are not online will not have a group ready when you log in. Check the raid nights on the guild's page and, more importantly, ask which evenings people are around while levelling.
- It is on your region, faction and ruleset. Characters cannot move between rulesets, so a guild on the PvP ruleset is no use to your character on the normal one.
- It runs dungeons, not only raids. Guild pages here say what the guild does; look for dungeons in that list, not raids alone. The levelling weeks are where a group finder would have mattered most.
- It answers. A guild that leaves applications unanswered for a week will leave your "anyone for Gnomeregan?" unanswered too. Every guild page here shows how quickly the guild replies.

Find one before launch
The directory lists guilds recruiting for WoW Forever now, with their region, ruleset, raid nights and what they need:

Apply to one or two that fit the evenings you can actually play. On launch day you will log in to a guild chat with people looking for the same dungeon you are, which is the group finder WoW Forever ships with.
