WoW Forever raid planner

Place classes and specs in parties of five and see which buffs and debuffs your raid has, what's missing and which party needs it, by Forever's rules.

Start planning
  • One air totem per party, from any number of Shamans
  • Leader of the Pack and Moonkin don't stack
  • Kings is baseline for every Paladin

Raid sizes and opening dates are from Blizzard. The bosses aren’t public yet, so the planner covers what each class brings, not fight tactics.

Place a few specs and this fills in: every buff lights up the moment someone brings it, and what's missing shows here.

One blessing per target per Paladin. If Forever lets one Paladin give several blessings, you need fewer Paladins. Blizzard hasn't said. Rows that depend on it are marked.

Insect Swarm and Scorpid Sting may not stack. Both lower the boss's hit chance by 2%. Whether they stack in Forever is unconfirmed.

Debuff limit unknown. Classic had 16 debuff slots. A blue post on 15 Sep said the answer is unknown. Matters at 40.

Totems may become raid-wide. Blizzard floated making some totem effects raid-wide to need fewer Shamans. Today Windfury, Strength of Earth, Mana Spring, Mana Tide and Tremor are party-only; the resistance totems are already raid-wide.

How the planner checks buffs and debuffs

Every buff and debuff has a reach. Raid-wide ones, such as Fortitude, Mark of the Wild and Arcane Intellect, need one player anywhere in the raid. Party buffs, such as Windfury, Mana Spring, Battle Shout and the Druid crit aura, reach only the caster's own party of five. So the planner checks each party on its own, against what that party needs: a melee party wants Windfury and Battle Shout, a caster or healer party wants Mana Spring.

When two effects don't stack, such as two air totems in one party, the second shows as wasted instead of counting twice. On this page every spec you place counts. In a guild plan, a class pick with no member in it counts as assumed, not covered, until someone takes the seat.

What Forever changed for raid comps

High confidence unless marked.

  • Paladins and Shamans are on both factions. Blizzard lowered Battle Shout because raids will have both.
  • Blessing of Kings, Improved Mark of the Wild, Improved Fortitude and Divine Spirit are baseline: one player of the class covers the buff, whatever their spec.
  • Windfury and Grace of Air don't stack in one party, even from different Shamans: one air totem per party.
  • Leader of the Pack and Moonkin Form both add crit to spells and attacks and don't stack: one crit aura per party.
  • Shadow Weaving now helps only the casting Priest, so a Shadow Priest no longer buffs Warlocks.
  • Prayer of Healing and Wild Growth heal the target's party, so healers don't need to sit with the people they heal.
  • Whether one Paladin can give more than one blessing per target isn't confirmed. The planner assumes one, as in Classic, and marks what depends on it. Low confidence

Questions

What's the best raid comp for Onyxia's Lair in WoW Forever?

Nobody knows yet. The raids open on 9 December and every talent tree changed, so there are no logs. The bosses aren't public either. What you can plan now is coverage: every raid-wide buff once, and an air totem and a crit aura in each party that needs them. The planner checks that.

Can Alliance have Shamans and Horde have Paladins in WoW Forever?

Yes. Every class is on both factions, so one raid can bring Blessing of Kings and Windfury Totem together. Blizzard lowered Battle Shout for that reason.

How many Shamans does a raid need?

One for each party that wants Windfury (melee) or Mana Spring (casters and healers), because those totems reach only the Shaman's own party. In the beta, the resistance totems reach the whole raid.

Which buffs don't stack in Forever?

Windfury and Grace of Air (one air totem per party, even from two Shamans), and Leader of the Pack with Moonkin Form (one crit aura per party). The planner marks the second one as wasted.

How do I share a raid comp?

Press Share link. You get a short link that opens your lineup read-only, and anyone who opens it can edit a copy of their own.

Can officers plan with the guild's real roster?

Yes. Save to my guild puts the plan in your guild's workspace, with your members and a bench. It shows which class each party is missing, so you know who to recruit next. Officers choose whether the guild or anyone with a link can see it; member names stay hidden on a public link unless an officer shows them.
